According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Adam Gase is here to stay, at least for the time being.
Schefter has reported that the New York Jets plan to stick with the embattled head coach amidst fan consternation. His report on ESPN cites “sources familiar with (chairman Christopher Johnson’s) thinking”.
Among the reasons for sticking with Gase includes the fact that he and Jets general manager Joe Douglas have only been together for a short time.
“The Jets believe the situation will sort itself out,” Schefter writes. “A segment of the Jets’ fan base on social media wants Gase fired, the sooner the better, but the team is not inclined to acquiesce to those wishes at this time, as the New York Daily News also reported.
