Every regime has its own way of running things.
We’ve seen in the past the New York Jets do weekly captains and we’ve seen them do seasonal captains.
On Wednesday morning, the team released its captains for the 2019 season and there should be no arguments among the fan-base:
- Sam Darnold, quarterback
- While most quarterbacks are automatically slapped in a leadership role based on their position, this is important for Sam. He no longer has his veteran mentor Josh McCown in the quarterback room and now entering his second-year he’s seizing a leadership role with this team.
