Due to the timing of the hire, New York Jets general manager Joe Douglas missed out on the 2019 NFL Draft and the free agency period.
So he’s had to get pretty creative to put his spin on the 2019 Jets roster. In his seven months on the job, he’s made some waiver wire claims, a few trades, but most notably he convinced a former All-Pro player out of retirement.
While the Ryan Kalil signing has been a dud eight games into the season, that doesn’t mean his strategy stinks.
On Tuesday he went back to the drawing board and was able to convince another player off the couch.
