The New York Jets’ beleaguered pass rush took another hit on Tuesday, as the team announced that defensive end Vinny Curry was placed on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list. Such a designation will force him to miss the entirety of the 2021 season, as Curry was originally placed on the Active/NFI list.
Formerly of the Philadelphia Eagles, Curry inked a one-year, $1.3 million deal with the Jets in March. The Neptune, NJ native was set to enter his tenth NFL season, spending all but one in Philadelphia. Curry was part of the Eagles’ Super Bowl champion squad at the end of the 2017-18 season alongside current Jets general manager Joe Douglas, who was part of Philadelphia’s front office at the time.
