Would the phrase “too soon” be appropriate here? New York Jets head coach Todd Bowles seemed to have a quick hook for defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers in terms of calling the defense.
Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News revealed the story on Tuesday afternoon, saying this, “Todd Bowles will take back some of the play-calling duties from defensive coordinator Kacy Rodgers. Specifically, Bowles will call the defensive plays in two-minute/hurry-up situations.”
That’s, of course, despite the fact the team, through three games, is ranked above average in several major defensive statistical categories.
