New York Jets head coach Adam Gase denied notions that he was responsible for the recent firing of general manager Mike Maccagnan.
In a report from NFL Network’s Kimberly Jones, Gase instead expressed surprise that Maccagnan was let go after five years at the Jets’ helm.
“I disagree as far as (it being a) power struggle,” Gase said. “(Christopher Johnson) is the owner. He told me (about the firing). I work for him.”
Gase has since taken over as the interim general manager. He has made several moves in his infantile tenure.
