The New York Jets added wide receiver Jalin Marshall to the roster on Monday. They released cornerback Marcus Williams to make room on the roster for Marshall.
Williams started 15 games between 2014 and 2016. He had a team-high six interceptions in 2015 but his play has declined since then.
“The other guys were playing better,” Jets coach Todd Bowles told Rich Cimini of ESPN. Obviously, (Darryl) Roberts and (Juston) Burris had a great camp. You fall behind the eight ball and it’s a numbers thing. I think Marcus will land and play somewhere.
