ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the New York Jets have franchise tagged safety Marcus Maye. This move will cost the Jets around $10.5 million and keep Maye in Florham Park for at least one more season.
The franchise tag for a safety is worth about $10.5 million.

Heading into the offseason, retaining Maye was certainly a monumental goal for the franchise. In a year in which the Jets no longer employed star safety Jamal Adams (due to the trade of him to Seattle this past Summer), Maye underwent his best season in 2020, notching career-highs in a number of statistical categories.
