The New York Jets have fired general manager Mike Maccagnan. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News first reported the sudden news and the organization has since made it official.
“This morning, I informed Mike that he was being relieved of his duties as General Manager of the team, effective immediately,” Jets Chairman and CEO Christopher Johnson said in a statement.
The New York Jets tweeted the entire statement moments later.
