New York Jets add WR D.J. Montgomery off waivers from Browns

Joe Douglas‘ mission statement of the moment is pretty simple: Do everything imaginable to acquire more talent at the wide receiver position. Count one in the plus column on Sunday.

The New York Jets have acquired wide receiver D.J. Montgomery off waivers from the Cleveland Browns, according to the team’s official website and the league’s official transaction wire.

Montgomery, 23, is a second-year wideout who arrived in Cleveland as an undrafted free agent. The 6-foot-1, 201-pound weapon played decently well for the Browns in the preseason a year ago. The problem was health.
