New York Jets 2019: Ranking the 53-man roster — #37 Tom Compton

When former New York Jets general manager Mike Maccagnan signed veteran behemoth O-lineman Tom Compton, the move made sense. The 2012 sixth-rounder (193rd overall) out of South Dakota did not excel for the Washington Redskins. But he was competent enough to compete in that choke-job Super Bowl loss by the Atlanta Falcons to the New England Patriots, and last season he battled knee issues to start 14 games for the Vikings.

As bad as the Jets O-line has played as a unit, this roster suffered a blow with the season-ending loss of penalty-prone six-year NFL starting guard Brian Winters.
