FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- New York Jets right tackle Brandon Shell knows in his gut that he's not going to get the job done this weekend if he plays a shell game against Oakland Raiders left end Khalil Mack.
Mack is the league's reigning Defensive Player of the Year, a 6-foot-3, 250-pound edge-rusher who has been tearing up the league since he was the fifth player taken in the 2014 draft. Shell was a fifth-round pick in 2016.
The Mack-Shell matchup might be the most important of the game for the 0-1 Jets, who are 13-point underdogs at Oakland.
