Mo Wilkerson won’t hold out of Jets camp: source

Despite still not having the long-term contract he desires, Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson is expected to report to training camp on time Wednesday, according to a source.

Wilkerson and the Jets remain far apart on a deal, but Wilkerson appears ready to play out the final year of his rookie contract, which will pay him $6.96 million.

The 25-year-old Wilkerson skipped all of the voluntary portion of the offseason program as he and his representatives tried to hammer out a contract with new general manager Mike Maccagnan. Wilkerson did report to mandatory minicamp in June, a strong indication he likely would appear at training camp on time.
