Robert Saleh’s decision to start Joe Flacco at quarterback didn’t make much of a difference, not with the way the Jets’ defense and special teams played.
Breakdowns and bad penalties on defense and two missed field goals contributed to the Jets losing their third straight game. They fell 24-17 to the Dolphins on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.
The Jets are now 2-8 on the season and have lost their last 10 games against the AFC East.
Saleh took the ball away from Mike White and gave it to Flacco, believing the veteran had a better chance against the Dolphins’ cover-zero blitzing defense
Flacco completed 24 of 39 passes for 291 yards and two touchdowns.
