Mike McCarthy would be great hire for Jets: Brett Favre

Brett Favre feels pretty good about another move from Green Bay to Gang Green.

The Hall of Fame quarterback, who followed his legendary run with the Packers by spending one season with the Jets, believes his former head coach, Mike McCarthy, would be an ideal match to replace Todd Bowles in New York. Favre spent a total of three seasons in Green Bay with the Super Bowl-winning McCarthy, who was fired in the midst of a career-worst (4-7-1) 13th year as Packers head coach.

McCarthy, a former quarterbacks coach who helped develop Aaron Rodgers into a future Hall of Famer, is expected to interview for the open positions of the Jets and Browns, who both feature elite quarterback prospects, in New York’s Sam Darnold and Cleveland’s Baker Mayfield.
