Mike Maccagnan may have been happy with his first draft as GM, but that doesn’t mean he was satisfied with his staff. The new man in charge of the Jets fired six members of the front office Monday, just two days after the draft was completed, according to a source.
The highest ranking staff member fired was director of pro personnel Brendan Prophett, who had been with the team since 2000 and was in his ninth season as director of pro personnel. Scouts Rick Courtright, David Hinson, Cole Hufnagel, Chris Prescott and Seth Turner were also fired.
"I appreciate their contributions to the organization and wish them the best in the future," Maccagnan said in a statement.
