The New York Jets officially ended offensive lineman Mekhi Becton’s 2022 season, placing the embattled blocker on injury reserve in a series of roster moves.
Becton’s injury woes have been well-documented, as the Jets’ first-round pick from the 2020 draft hasn’t played since suffering a knee injury in the team’s Week 1 contest against Carolina last season. Another knee injury sustained during training camp has now prematurely ended his third year, leading the team to turn to George Fant and the newly signed Duane Brown at the primary tackle spots.
In addition to Becton’s designation, the team also released four players.
