His last name and the position he plays prompts an obvious question he has heard countless times before: “Are you any relation to Art Shell?”
Brandon Shell has heard that question throughout his football career at the University of South Carolina and now with the Jets. But he never seems to get tired of it.
“That’s my great uncle,” Shell will tell you with a smile and a look of pride. “He’s my mother’s uncle.
