FLORHAM PARK -- It's only July, but it feels like the Jets season is over.
They're the furthest thing from a Super Bowl contender. Barring divine intervention, there will be no playoff run. It's not if the Jets will stink in 2017, but how much? Could this be the first squad since the 2008 Lions to not win a single game?
The outside noise, generated by general manager Mike Maccagnan's roster purge, has rendered the Jets a league-wide joke before playing a single game.
But the players who reported to the team's facility Friday for the start of training camp aren't laughing.
