New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall finished the regular season with a franchise-record 1,502 receiving yards, breaking the old mark of 1,434 yards that was set by Hall of Famer Don Maynard back in 1967, per Elias Sports Bureau via ESPN.com.
Following a disappointing 2014 campaign with the Chicago Bears, the 31-year-old Marshall was traded to New York along with a seventh-round draft pick in exchange for a mere fifth-round selection.
Marshall ultimately fell just six yards shy of the record for most receiving yards by a player in his first year with a new team, but he probably won't be too disappointed, as the record is one that he already owns, having amassed 1,508 receiving yards in 2012, his first season in Chicago.
