When it comes to the special team’s situation of the New York Jets, it’s once again an area of opportunity. The concept is simple in the grand scheme of things. If a team has a decent return game from their kickoff and/or punt returner, it helps give them better field positioning.
A short football field to work with not only helps an offense get the job of scoring points done easier but even if they don’t score, still puts their defense in a better situation to make a big stop. Unfortunately for the Jets, they haven’t had any consistency in their return game and have yet to score a touchdown from their special team’s unit.
