When it was the New York Jets turn to pick in the third round of the 2015 NFL Draft, the Jets selected Lorenzo Mauldin OLB out of Louisville.
What immediately stood out about Mauldin was what he had been through on his journey to the draft. Mauldin grew up in a foster care program, and group homes without any family stability. In high school, Mauldin committed to South Carolina for college until he was told that there was no scholarship for him there. Obviously, Mauldin ended up making it work at Louisville and he became a solid pass rushing prospect in the draft.
