Mauldin received a bad concussion week 1 vs. the Cleveland Browns, but was lucky, as it was feared he had a major neck injury when he was carted off the field after collapsing.
A third round pick of the Jets in the 2015 NFL draft, Mauldin was drafted to be a pass rushing force from the outside opposite Quinton Coples, having 21 career sacks in his three years at Louisville.
