DETROIT — Brandon Copeland spent last weekend hoping his phone would not ring.
The first-year Jets outside linebacker felt good about what he had done in training camp and in the preseason, but his career has taught him to never know what to expect. So on cutdown weekend, Copeland waited and hoped he would not hear anything from the Jets.
“Because I have a roller-coaster ride of a career, I don’t take anything for granted or any decision for granted,” Copeland said this week, standing in front of his locker.
