Before Muhammad Wilkerson was an All-Pro defensive lineman wearing No. 96 for the New York Jets, he was a standout wearing No. 91 for Linden High School.
After Wednesday night, it's a number no Tiger will ever wear on the gridiron again.
Wilkerson became the first player in Linden history to have his number retired in a ceremony before the Tigers fell to Union, 22-19, honoring the 2007 graduate not just for his accomplishments on the field but his involvement in the community.
“Coming back, to be the first player with his jersey retired, it’s an honor.
