Last man standing Josh McCown won’t let this chance go to waste

We can excuse Josh McCown for feeling a bit nostalgic Monday as he talked about being 38 years old and one of 32 starting quarterbacks when the NFL season opens this weekend.

He’ll lead the Jets offense into Buffalo on Sunday afternoon beginning his 15th season in the league and representing a 2002 draft class that has only himself and defensive lineman Julius Peppers (Carolina) on an active roster.

That was the draft where David Carr was selected No.1 overall and quarterbacks Joey Harrington and Patrick Ramsey were also taken in the first round long before McCown of Sam Houston State went to the Cardinals in the third round with the 81st pick overall.
