Oh how things could have been for the Jets.
During an appearance Tuesday on “The Michael Kay Show,” Larry David claimed he called former GM Mike Maccagnan ahead of the 2018 NFL Draft, instructing him to use the third-overall pick on a quarterback not named Sam Darnold.
“I did call Mike Maccagnan before the 2018 draft and I recommended that he draft Lamar Jackson,” said David, a longtime Jets fan, noting he had a “witness” to the alleged conversation.
While the Jets ultimately pulled the trigger on Darnold, the “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator said Maccagnan responded to his suggestion condescendingly.
