Kliff Kingsbury has found his newest home, and it won’t be in New York.
The former Texas Tech head coach is finalizing a deal to become the next head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, NFL Network reported Tuesday afternoon.
That comes after Kingsbury spent Monday at the Jets’ New Jersey facility interviewing with the team.
Kingsbury was fired by Texas Tech after this season and an overall 35-40 mark, but is respected for his offensive savvy. He was set to be the offensive coordinator at USC before the NFL came calling.
“I played with Kliff and we have been friends ever since,” Patriots quarterback Tom Brady said on WEEI on Monday amid rumors Kingsbury would be a possibility to replace Josh McDaniels if the Patriots’ offensive coordinator landed a head-coaching job.
