Kicker Nick Folk out 4-6 weeks with strained quadriceps

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The Jets need a new kicker -- and fast.

Nick Folk will miss 4-6 weeks because of a right quadriceps strain, coach Todd Bowles said Monday. According to a source, the team worked out kickers Billy Cundiff, Kyle Brindza, Garrett Hartley and Randy Bullock, but no signing was announced.

"We have to sign one,'' Bowles said, adding that there's a chance Folk will be placed on injured reserve.

"It's possible. We need some roster spots. We have a couple people hurt. So we have to work some things out.''

After the 28-23 win over the Jaguars on Sunday, Folk told reporters he felt "a little pop'' in his right quadriceps while going through his pregame routine.
