Start your airplane engines: John Idzik has landed another full-time job in football.
Former Jets GM John Idzik was hired by the Jaguars as special assistant to the general manager on Thursday, six months after a brief and failed stint running the Jets front office. Idzik had been consulting for the Jaguars for the past three months.
Idzik will have a varied role with Jacksonville that will include both cap management as well as both college and pro scouting. The former Jets GM is known for his salary cap expertise but does not have as much of a scouting background.
