OFFENSE
Quarterback: Joe Namath, first round, 1965, Alabama. The Jets picked him No. 1 overall in the AFL draft, then outbid the St. Louis Cardinals, who selected him in the NFL draft. The Jets signed him for $427,000 over three years, an obscene amount at the time. It probably was the smartest thing they ever did. Namath led them to their only Super Bowl and became one of the most iconic players in pro football history.
