Jets star defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson left practice Sunday with what coach Todd Bowles described as a “tweaked” hamstring.
Bowles said he was hopeful Wilkerson would not miss much time because of the injury. The Jets are off Monday before returning to the practice field Tuesday.
“I don’t think it’s serious,” Bowles said. “If it loosens up, he should be OK. He shouldn’t be out long.”
Wilkerson is seeking a new contract and showed the team a lot by reporting to training camp on time instead of holding out. His teammates are hoping he gets paid soon.
