Devin Smith's 2017 season is officially (likely) over.
The Jets announced Monday they waived/injured the talented but injury-plagued wideout, who tore his ACL last month. Smith will be subject to the waiver. If he clears, he will revert to the Jets' injured reserve.
To replace Smith on the roster, the Jets signed DeShon Foxx.
"It's unfortunate, bad luck and bad timing," coach Todd Bowles said in late April, when the Jets announced Smith's injury. "The kid worked so hard to get back. He has to persevere. Adversity will help him get stronger.
