Jets waive QB Brandon Silvers

The Jets are whittling down the quarterback depth chart in the wake of the 2019 NFL draft, waiving Silvers before he ever got the chance to see much action.

An undrafted free agent out of Troy in 2018, Silvers made the most of his opportunity in the Alliance of American Football, starring for the Memphis Express during the league’s brief stint in the Spring of 2019. The Jets added him to the roster after the league folded after just six weeks.

Silvers enjoyed an incredibly productive career for the Trojans, throwing for over 10,000 yards.

The recent addition of Luke Falk, whom the Jets claimed off waivers from the Miami Dolphins, apparently made Silvers expendable even after such a short time.
