The banged-up New York Jets continued to churn their roster on Saturday, waiving former starting tight end Kellen Davis and signing cornerback Dexter McDougle from the practice squad.
Davis, who sat out last week with a hyperextended elbow, was waived with an injury designation. He already had been ruled out to play Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. He became expendable because the Jets have three other tight ends on the roster -- Brandon Bostick, Austin Seferian-Jenkins and recently-acquired Eric Tomlinson.
