FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — The Jets will miss starting running back Matt Forte (turf toe) for a second consecutive week as coach Todd Bowles ruled him out for Sunday’s game against the Browns in Cleveland.
Forte, who injured the toe in the Jets’ Week 3 victory over the Dolphins, hasn’t practiced since that game.
The Jets will start Bilal Powell with Forte out and also use rookie Elijah McGuire. In last week’s victory over the Jaguars, the pair rushed for 256 yards a franchise record for two running backs in a single game.
“It’s week-to-week. I don’t look at none of that hype,” Powell said Friday.
