FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – Jets cornerback Trumaine Johnson said he suffered a “freakish injury” in practice several weeks ago, and still isn’t sure when he will return.
Johnson said the quad injury that has kept him out of the last three games happened doing “everyday drills.” He didn’t practice again Wednesday so it appears he will miss a fourth straight game Sunday when the Jets are in Chicago.
“It’s a freakish injury,” Johnson said in his first interview in nearly a month. “I want to go out there and help my team win. At the position I play, I got to be out there at least a good percentage.
