Jets training camp 2018: Breaking down top position battles, including Sam Darnold

Rookie Trenton Cannon needs to show the Jets they can trust him on punt returns. And he didn't return punts at Division II Virginia State, so that could be an issue. Cannon is going up against two veteran wide receivers — Andre Roberts and Lucky Whitehead. Roberts probably has the advantage right now, but it's early. Can't really make a definitive call on this until preseason games happen, just like kicker.

Odds are, Morris Claiborne will be the outside corner opposite Trumaine Johnson. But maybe Buster Skrine surges in training camp and seizes the job.
