The Jets on Sunday traded cornerback Dexter McDougle to the Eagles for safety Terrence Brooks, according to ESPN.
So what does this mean for the Jets and Eagles?
Well, Brooks gives the Jets some much-needed safety depth behind Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye. The Jets lost Doug Middleton to a season-ending torn pectoral muscle earlier in the preseason. He had been showing signs of progress this summer.
Ronald Martin and Rontez Miles had been considered the favorites for the Jets' two backup safety spots, but the organization clearly didn't feel great about those options.
