Jets trade Calvin Pryor to Browns for Demario Davis

The Jets have agreed to trade former first-round pick Calvin Pryor to the Browns for linebacker Demario Davis.

Davis was drafted by the Jets in the third round in 2012 and played four seasons in New York before signing with the Browns last offseason.

Pryor’s status as a starting safety has been in question much of the offseason, especially after the Jets selected safeties Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye in the first two rounds of April’s NFL Draft. During most of Tuesday’s OTA, Pryor practiced with the third-team defense.

“Calvin is a young-experienced safety that has upside,” Browns executive vice president of football operations Sashi Brown said in the news released posted on the team’s website.
