New York Jets CEO Christopher Johnson has said on multiple occasions that he isn't a patient man, but his track record -- albeit limited -- suggests that he is. He stuck with coach Todd Bowles after a second straight 5-11 season, handing him a two-year contract extension -- an indication that Johnson is willing to endure the growing pains that come with rebuilding a roster.
If the current season continues to go the wrong way, Johnson's patience (or impatience) will be tested. The majority of the fan base wants him to find a new coach, probably an offensive-minded leader who can do with Sam Darnold what the Rams' Sean McVay has done with Jared Goff and what the Bears' Matt Nagy is in the process of doing with Mitchell Trubisky.
