Jets head coach Todd Bowles didn't sound overly concerned Tuesday about his team perhaps losing quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick in free agency.
Then again, Bowles always presents a laid-back, non-panicking demeanor when it comes to public interactions like Tuesday's, as he spoke with reporters at the NFL Annual Meeting in Boca Raton, Fla.
But Bowles did acknowledge the Jets have backup plans, in case Fitzpatrick leaves. And Geno Smith — the Jets' starter from 2013-14 and their No. 2 last year — is in those plans, according to Bowles.
He said Smith is "one of the options" to start if Fitzpatrick leaves.
