The Jets plan to waive running back Knile Davis and sign free agent running back C.J. Spiller after 4 p.m. Wednesday, two league sources confirmed to NJ Advance Media on Tuesday.
Earlier Tuesday, the Jets claimed Davis off waivers from the Packers. The Jets had been in contract talks with Spiller, but had not yet received a commitment from him. When Davis became available, they claimed him as a backup plan.
But now, Spiller is going to sign with the Jets, and Davis is gone, before he really even arrived.
