The Jets’ backfield is coming together.
One day after signing Matt Forte, the Jets are re-signing RB Bilal Powell and are signing former Saints RB Khiry Robinson, according to sources.
By keeping Powell, Gang Green has a solid first two options at the running back position. While Powell, 27, is no superstar, he’s a versatile player that is useful to have on the roster. Like Forte, Powell is a weapon in the receiving game, having caught 47 passes in Chan Gailey’s system last year. He also is often lauded by coaches for his pass blocking.
