The Jets' fallback plan for replacing retiring veteran left tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson includes a familiar face.
A person with knowledge of the situation confirmed late Friday night that Ben Ijalana, an unrestricted free agent who was Ferguson's backup the last three seasons, would re-sign with the Jets.
That person spoke to NJ Advance Media on the condition of anonymity. Dennis Waszak Jr. of the Associated Press was first to report that Ijalana would re-sign with the Jets.
Ijalana, who was born in New Brunswick and graduated from Rancocas Valley, was a second-round pick of the Colts out of Villanova in 2011.
