Rich Cimini of ESPN reports that the Jets are planning to promote LB Freddie Bishop to their active roster in time for Sunday’s game.
Bishop, 27, originally signed on with the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan back in 2013. He lasted just over a month in Detroit before he was waived.
Bishop later joined the Calgary Stampeders and played there for three seasons in the CFL before the Jets signed him to a contract last February. He was on and off of their active roster last season but was, unfortunately, cut loose a few weeks ago.
