Jets take Devin Smith, Lorenzo Mauldin on draft's 2nd day (The Associated Press)

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (AP) -- The New York Jets had the need for speed in the second round of the NFL draft.

They selected Ohio State wide receiver Devin Smith on Friday night, giving the Jets an explosive pass-catcher who can stretch the field. He'll complement a Jets receiving corps that includes Brandon Marshall, Eric Decker and Jeremy Kerley.

Despite trading for Marshall in March, and having two dependable receivers in Decker and Kerley, New York's offense lacked a potential gamebreaker. Smith gives the Jets exactly that.
