The Jets added a fourth quarterback Sunday, when they signed John Wolford, who had been in rookie minicamp as a non-roster player.
A four-year starter for Wake Forest, he threw an ACC-best 29 touchdowns last season.
“We were thinking about practice squad. We wanted to see if he can learn the system a little bit, so we brought in a guy a week early because we had an extra spot to use,” coach Todd Bowles said of Wolford, who could get some mop up work Thursday against the Eagles if he picks up the playbook quickly enough.
