That was fast.
On the day stalwart left tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson officially announced his retirement, the Jets dealt for his replacement, striking a deal with Denver for Ryan Clady.
The Jets will send their fifth-round pick to the Broncos in exchange for a seventh-rounder and the 29-year-old offensive lineman, according to ESPN.
Clady, 6-foot-6 and 316 pounds, is a four-time Pro Bowler who had spent his entire career with Denver. He didn’t play in 2015 after tearing his ACL in May, missing out on the Broncos’ Super Bowl run.
Banking on his return to health, the Jets figure to slot him in the spot Ferguson had occupied since 2006.
