The Jets have surprisingly cut receiver Jalin Marshall days after activating him to the 53-man roster.
The team announced the move on Saturday. To take Marshall's spot, the Jets elevated cornerback Xavier Coleman from the practice squad. The Jets play the Patriots on Sunday.
If Marshall clears waivers, the Jets plan to sign him to their practice squad, a source familiar with the situation told NJ Advance Media.
Marshall, 22, tested positive for PEDs in the offseason, and served a four-game suspension to start the year. On Monday, the Jets chose to add Marshall to roster when they could have cut him.
